Bangalore - India 2023 - Reviews of the places I visited. Byg Brewski and Skyee

 Byg Brewski Brewery Hennur

Byg Brewski Brewery offers a wonderfully rustic atmosphere with a spacious layout and excellent beer selection. Situated very close to Oia, we decided to kick off our visit with a beer and the first round of snacks at BB.

The brewery boasts a large area with a significant water feature—seemingly a trend as many places incorporate some kind of pond or water body. Opting for a flight of beer and Tandoori chicken, we were delighted to find both options absolutely amazing. I usully like to order a flight to explore various options and pick one after. The service was impeccable as well.

Our visit took place in the late afternoon, as we wanted to experience both BB and Oia together. However, one could easily spend an entire evening at Byg Brewski Brewery.  The only downside is the lack of a nearby Metro station, which would have been a convenient addition.

Skyee in UB City

Bangalore, you are amazing - now!

My last two trips have been a blast, thanks to the availability of the Metro that takes me to most of the fun places.

UB City Mall is among those high-end malls that I enjoyed visiting. While I'm not much of a shopper, I like to explore these places to learn more about the new India and its people.

This particular bar had been on my list for some time. It's a one-time visit kind of place. Unfortunately, the food was overpriced and horrible. My husband opted for scotch, and I went for a gin and tonic. We didn't go too fancy on drinks. We ordered the Lebanese Veggie platter and the meat platter. The veggie platter was good, but the meat platter was disappointing—overcooked, rubbery, and clearly not fresh.

I would recommend going early, spending some time in the mall, having dinner elsewhere, and then heading upstairs for a drink. A well-lit night could make it more enjoyable. It might be a good idea to call ahead in that case.

Asia’s largest pub - OIA - Greece comes to Bangalore

You visit this place for the fun, pictures, glamour, and awe factor rather than for drinks or food. While they attempted to be creative, it is more expensive than I would prefer to pay.

However, I do recommend going at least once, allocating at least 2 hours, and arriving before sunset to enjoy the place in daylight. Take a leisurely stroll, capture some photos, and observe the place gradually filling up. The venue is well-decorated, especially in the evening.

I found Bangalore to be very expensive for drinks, and I later discovered it was due to the outrageous excise tax in the city. I cannot praise the decor, seating, cleanliness, and service enough. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the food.

During our visit, we ordered a cocktail, Boozy Vodka Panipuri, and my husband stuck to his scotch. However, I would suggest eating elsewhere and coming here for drinks and dessert. We ordered Pigs in Blanket (meh), Bhutte Ka Kebab (horrible) prawns wrapped in bacon (okay), Whisky Garlic Prawn (horrible), and tandoori chicken (good).

I will go again and again for its grand scale and lively ambience.
